Iconic Landmark, Extreme Conditions

Ivory Tower stands as the tallest and most iconic structure in South Pune. Visible from Swargate to Katraj, this 24-storied business tower commands the skyline. When we set out to illuminate its façade, we faced a challenge as tall as the building itself.

The Challenge

As a standalone tower, Ivory Tower is exposed to intense wind pressure from all sides. Façade fixtures had to withstand 47°C summer heat, heavy monsoons, high humidity, chemical fumes, and dust from constant traffic. The brief was critical: engineer a lighting solution that endures harsh conditions yet delivers stunning, uniform illumination visible from afar.

Engineering the Solution

We designed custom clips and fasteners to anchor into the existing tile grooves on each column, creating a secure mounting system without altering the façade. The entire plan was vetted with architects and lighting consultants before production. Power distribution was equally critical. To minimize voltage drop across the 24 floors, drivers were strategically placed on every 5th floor.

Built to Endure

We manufactured aluminium fixtures with a specialized chemical coating to protect against corrosion, UV, and pollutants. Every unit underwent 4 rounds of rigorous lab testing under simulated wind, heat, and rain to guarantee performance.

Installation against the Odds

Installation tested our team’s resolve. Due to extreme heat, work was restricted to early mornings and late evenings. Monsoon rains caused further delays. Yet, driven by commitment, the team executed the project with precision and delivered on schedule.

The Result

The outcome: an iconic, brilliantly lit landmark. Four years on, the façade lighting performs flawlessly — no lumen loss, no fading, just consistent, elegant light lines. This project set a new benchmark for high-rise façade lighting in challenging environments and earned strong appreciation across the industry.
